(1) The breakfast was great - wide varieties of japanese & western dishes given in a ball room size place (Prince Hall). Unlimited supply of salmon roe, tamago, makari, grilled fish, self made beancurd, fries, wedges, muffins etc etc. The coffee machines in the breakfast hall made great drinks and they provided paper cups & caps for free takeaway. (2) The staff were very welcoming even with limited English ability. They were attentive, efficient, polite and warm - all of them from room makers to porters. (3) The whole hotel was filled with fresh air & water - very refreshing from the moment you stepped out of your car park lot. The surrounding woods were a bit daunting in the dark but it burst into lives in the sunlight. We liked it very much. (4) The room although aged, was very well maintained and clean. The toilet has full amenities provided, with clean water and strong shower. Daily house keeping was done and they did a great job. (5) The in-house onsen was great - very clean, optimal temperature and the hotel provideds full suites of clothes, towels, slippers, bag for a comfortable soak. The onsen tax was just a few dollars per pax per stay - very worth it! (6) The surface parking had many lots which allowed us to return to the hotel at late hours. It was just 100m easy walk from the hotel main building. A cottage style bread shop was located within the parking area.

The setting in the forest near the small lake was lovely, especially as it rained. The room was clean, well equipped, with a lovely forest outlook. The onsen was very relaxing. The convenience store downstairs was handy, as was the bakery down the hill. Staff were professional, but friendly. We especially would like to thank the bus driver who took us in and out of Onumakoen (to and fom the station and to walk aound the lake ) a few times. Great service! Thank you.

We were given a free upgrade to a room with a view of the small lake and the volcano, as well as the forest, and it was so lovely I didn't want to leave. Beautiful and spacious room and excellent value at the price we paid. Tranquil location, great and helpful staff, and good location for touring by car. Nearby Onuma Quasi-National Park is lovely, especially at sunset. Wifi worked well, everything was good, and the hotel has pretty grounds with woodland walks.

It’s the hotel on my must visit list . I visit it every year. Splendid scenery fantastic hotel. The views around the hotel are unbelievable . Too beautiful . It’s my dreamland sceneries, I still dream about it when I came home. Hopefully nobody see my comments , I don’t want it to be fully booked next time when I want to book. Thanks for giving me such beautiful memories. Love this hotel so much.

If you like Japanese food the breakfast selection was extensive and very good although the western offer was limited. The Japanese bath is spectacular with outdoor baths over looking a beautiful lake that is lite up at night.
